With more than 170 participants from over 80 organisations in 50 countries worldwide, the biggest yearly meeting of International Voluntary Service organisations took place in Tallinn, Estonia, hosted by our member organisation ESTYES.
From 3 to 6 March, from early morning until late in the evening, the representatives of IVS organisations had bilateral meetings, presented their programmes, evaluated past cooperations and discussed future partnerships.
The result? Hundreds of new workcamps for the summer season 2016 are now being published by dozens of organisations across all the world!
A special mention goes to the Alliance Day of 5th March, a break between the bilateral meetings: this is the day when the members of the Alliance discuss relevant issues for the network and the IVS movement, and the Working Groups and Committees have the first meetings of the year to advance in their plan of action. Representatives of our sister networks CCIVS (Coordinating Committee for International Voluntary Service), NVDA (Network for Voluntary Development in Asia) and SCI (Service Civil International) also participated to the Alliance Day, in the effort to boost synergies between the networks.
